The Quote That Left Me Feeling Guilty and Inspired
I read a quote not to long ago that really left me feeling convicted.
It said, “I’d rather be rejected by people for telling them about Jesus, than tell Jesus why I rejected him in front of them.”
Whew.
How many times have I felt it on my heart to share God’s word and truth with someone or go ask someone if they needed prayer, but didn’t do it.
I am eager to share the truth about God and his word with others, but fear often holds me back.
I hear the words, “are they willing to listen?”
We can’t let the fear of rejection or ridicule keep us from sharing our faith, our hope, and our trust in Jesus Christ.
It is heartbreaking that Christians around the world are persecuted and killed everyday for their faith. According to opendoorUSA.org a Christian is killed every 2 hours in Nigeria. That’s an average of 13 Christians a day, 372 a month, and roughly 4,464 lives taken each year in Nigeria alone because they love Jesus.
As an American, I am grateful to live in a country where my freedom of religion and speech can allow me to share the word of God and profess my faith. Of course people may not believe in what you are saying or care to truly listen.
BUT, if we continue to share share share, when a non-believer is losing all hope and realizes they are not able to depend on the ever changing things of this world, they may remember the things you said about our never-changing God!!
We must do better at sharing our testimonies, not just with believers, but especially with non-believers.
God wants all to come to him. No one is ever to far gone. Everyone is worthy of saving and having their lives completely transformed by the love of Jesus. Everyone is worthy of his forgiveness and grace.
I feel like I have failed when it comes to sharing my faith and the good news of Jesus Christ.
I have countless stories of God’s goodness and faithfulness in my life that I constantly reflect on to myself, but what I need to be doing is reflecting on and sharing it with others.
Sharing what God has done for me because I know he can do the same things for you too.
That he died on the cross, not just for me and you, but for all.
